Taxation
Natural person (information only valid for Spain)
The law acknowledges that the activity developed by the Cathedral of Barcelona is a priority activity of patronage (according to the law 11/2020, 30th of December, of the national budget for the year 2021) therefore the donations made will enjoy the following tax deductions:
The NATURAL person who made donations to the Cathedral of Barcelona will get the following percentage of tax deductions:
- The first 150€: 85% of tax deduction
- From 150€: 40% of tax deduction
- Your loyalty has a price: as the 3rd year onwards, instead of an additional 40%, it will deduct 45% from the 150€
** If you are not a resident of Spain, you should consult the legislation in your country of residence.
Legal entity (information only valid for Spain)
The LEGAL entity that made donations to the Cathedral of Barcelona will get the following percentage of tax deductions on their corporate taxes:
- 40%: as an entity, you will be able to deduct the 40% of the donation made to our entity in corporate taxes
- 45%: in case your contribution as an entity has been continued in the two previous years, you will be able to deduct the 45% of the donation made to our entity in corporate taxes for the third year
** If you are not a resident of Spain, you should consult the legislation in your country of residence.
Subjects non-residents who work in Spain
In the case of the donations made by non-residents who pay their taxes in Spain on the income tax for non-residents:
- If they work without a permanent establishment, they will apply the same percentages as a natural person.
- If they work with a permanent establishment, they will apply the same percentages as a legal entity.
How do you get a certificate of donation?
Only if your residence country is Spain and your given documentation is a DNI or an NIE, the corresponding certificate that entitles the deduction to the full fee of your statement will be issued automatically at the time you make your donation.
