The image of Saint Helena, sculpted in 1910 by Eduardo Bautista Alentorn, stands atop the cimborio of the Cathedral of Barcelona.<\/p>\n
The reasons for her privileged location is two-fold. On the one hand because she, mother of Emperor Constantine the Great (4th century), miraculously found the True Cross of Jesus Christ at Golgotha in Jerusal\u00e9n. The Cathedral of Barcelona is dedicated to our Savior’s Cross.
